A nutcracker stood next to a Christmas tree
Some careful deliberation…

It’s our fourth blog, and where I have always struggled to write lengthy pieces of text (even during my student days at University of Worcester), somehow when championing other businesses in the Three Counties, words just seem to come to me naturally. SO when we are faced with an entire room of local businesses…what’s the best thing to do?...Choose many of them to write about!

The Big Exhibition

On Thursday 23rd September, Worcestershire’s local businesses gathered together to support its 7th annual Festival of Business . Having skipped last years event due to Covid, Worcestershire FOB was bigger and better than ever - filling Sixways Stadium with over 70 exhibitors.

The home of Premiership rugby team, Worcester Warriors, quickly became a hub for entrepreneurs and business owners to connect and showcase their wares with one another. We all gathered together with one common association to one another already…we all have used #WorcestershireHour on Twitter to support one another previously. The creator of #WorcestershireHour, Stuart Allen, has built a strong online presence using this hashtag, to enable us to promote and support one another as local businesses. Every Monday evening at 8pm-9pm, hundreds of Worcestershire businesses flock to their twitter feeds to like, comment and retweet!

(If you wish to join in during future Worcestershire Hours, just use #WorcestershireHour on your twitter account.)

Preparation Pals

The appeal of an exhibition stand has always intrigued me – what draws people in?! I personally feel that Three Counties Christmas are incredibly lucky to have Christmas decorations on display at an exhibition – it is naturally eye-catching and hopefully initiates a talking point.

We do get asked many times, what do we do as our business…

So, a few weeks ago we asked Darren Wilkins at City Signs (Worcester) to create us two pull up banners with some examples of our work and a bit more clarity on our service. And I believe that every business within the Worcester Warriors Stadium had something similar…a poster, banner or temporary wall that displayed who they were and what they had to offer.

We have used City Signs for the last 4-5 years for our signage and leaflets, and could not recommend them highly enough. It also swiftly became apparent that Darren had been a popular choice for the other Worcestershire businesses exhibiting at the FOB.

Adding to fantastic artwork surrounding each stand, there was something else that caught my attention…
My inner-child homed in on every pen, notepad and delicious cake/chocolate that I walked past! I had the strong urge to collect as many different Worcestershire business’ pens as possible. By the end of my pen and notepad safari, one business name had reoccurred over and over again.

“Who did your branded stationary?” I would ask.
And the answer was always, “SB Print”.
And I would reply, “Yes, they did ours too.”

I want to say a huge thank you to Simon and Rachael Hodgetts at SB print for their hard work in helping, not just us, but also many others prepare for this event.
