A Worcester company which brings the magic of Christmas to homes and businesses each year is the latest to pick up a penguin for next summer’s city art trail.

Three Counties Christmas is to sponsor a sculpture for the great Waddle of Worcester in 2024, a location the team knows very well having spent many hours dressing the city with seasonal lighting and decorative displays.

Paul Chester, who runs Three Counties Christmas alongside wife, Ali, said: “We love working with clients to make their decorative dreams a reality so it seems very fitting to support St Richard’s Hospice in making Worcester look wonderful next summer.

“The last two art trails have brought such joy to the county but penguins are particularly special to us having such an affinity with Christmas. We can’t wait to select our design and see it brought to life as part of the hospice huddle.”

The trail begins on Monday, 22 July and runs for eight weeks until Sunday, 15 September 2024. Forty large fibreglass penguin sculptures will bring a splash of colour to Worcester’s streets and public spaces to form an interactive art trail.

Waddle of Worcester is a Wild in Art event brought to the city by St Richard’s Hospice.

Sara Matthews, Business Development Manager for St Richard’s Hospice, said: “It’s so fantastic to welcome Three Counties Christmas as a brand-new sponsor this year and we know that their eye for design will bring something really special to the great Waddle of Worcester.

“Our art trails simply wouldn’t be possible without the partners and sponsors who enable us to deliver a fun, free event all summer long before auctioning the sculptures to raise funds towards our care of patients and families. Thank you to all the local organisations who are waddling with us next summer!”

Forty baby penguins will be available for adoption by local schools and community groups. To register interest as a school or community group visit: https://waddleofworcester.co.uk/schools/
